No. 3D Photo Watch Face is designed to be battery friendly. It uses the modern Watch Face Format on Wear OS, which is optimized for low power usage. The 3D parallax effect runs when you look at your watch, then switches to a static ambient view when the screen is idle.
Do I need internet to use the app?
No. The app works completely offline. All depth detection, subject cutout, and watch face generation happen locally on your Android phone so your photos never leave your device.
Are my photos uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. 3D Photo Watch Face is private by design. Your images stay on your phone. We do not upload, store, or share your photos on any server or cloud service.
Which watches are supported?
3D Photo Watch Face requires Wear OS 6, based on Android 16, or newer.

Does this work on Apple Watch or iPhone?
No. 3D Photo Watch Face is built for Wear OS watches paired with an Android phone. Apple Watch and iOS are not supported.
How do I install the watch face on my watch?
  1. Install 3D Photo Watch Face: Parallax from Google Play on your Android phone.
  2. Open the companion app, choose a photo, and customize your design.
  3. Tap Push to watch in the app.
  4. On your Wear OS watch, open the watch face picker and select 3D Photo Watch Face.
Can I use any photo, or do I need portrait mode photos?
You can use almost any image. The app works with standard photos of people, pets, objects, or landscapes. You do not need a portrait mode photo. The app automatically detects the subject and separates it from the background to create the 3D depth effect.
How can I get the best 3D depth effect?
For the strongest parallax effect:
  • Use a photo where the main subject is clearly in the foreground
  • Avoid very dark or extremely busy backgrounds
  • Make sure the subject is not too small in the frame
  • Use the Align step in the app to position the subject and the time correctly
These small tweaks can make your 3D photo watch face look much more cinematic.
What can I customize on the watch face?
You can:
  • Pan and zoom to reframe your photo
  • Choose different time fonts and sizes
  • Change the time color
  • Position the time at the top or bottom
  • Add up to two complications for things like battery, date, steps, heart rate, and other data from compatible Wear OS apps

What complications are supported?
You can add up to two customizable data slots. Depending on your watch and installed apps, you can use:
  • Battery level
  • Step count

Complications are optional, so you can also keep a clean photo only look.
Will this app work if I change my watch or phone later?
Yes, as long as your new watch runs Wear OS 6 or newer and you use an Android phone. You can reinstall 3D Photo Watch Face from Google Play and keep creating new designs.
I installed the app but I do not see 3D Photo Watch Face on my watch.

To use the 3D Photo Watch Face on your watch, you need the app installed on both your phone and your Wear OS watch.

  1. Install 3D Photo Watch Face: Parallax from Google Play on your Android phone.
  2. On your Wear OS watch, open the Play Store, search for 3D Photo Watch Face, and install it there too.
  3. On your phone, open the app, choose a photo, customize your watch face, and tap Push to watch.
  4. On your watch, open the watch face picker and select 3D Photo Watch Face from the list.
